First of all, I would like to give a little note of thanks, though it’s been some time, to Irene for the lovely pouch specially posted and sent-to-my-doorstep (because I didn’t think it fitted in my mailbox), to Jacq for the many cattylicious items and the pic of Oguri Shun bought from Japan!, to Hajar for the woven magnet from Middle East — whoa, and Claudyne for the items from Korea! Took me long enough to remember blogging this. =P
The new block’s started, which means PHP = over, Japanese CDS = over. I was surprised at myself enjoying PHP classes. My PHP project group consists of Qinghui and Hajar, and we decided on the title The Screen, inspired by a movie with the same name, and uhh same genre – horror (and gore, thriller as the sub-genres). Ironically while I was animating the site banner (done in like 10 minutes) in Flash, Sadako’s (we used a screenshot from the movie Ring) movements gave me the creeps, even though it was a pic of her crawling, with a head full of long gross hair, and I only made it sway slowly. Grungy/grainy layout, morbid theatre curtains, a big screen and movie tickets to match the theme. I used to rely on others for php tagboard scripts for my blog in the past, but now I’m sure I could manage a simple message board or blog script alright.
Jap CDS was – thankfully – a breeze, I made some new friends because of the groupings and learnt even more about the culture of Japan; it was a fun learning module I conclude. Sensei would mention interesting things about Japan, like once she talked about Erika Sawajiri and how bitchy she was during the shooting of 1 Litre of Tears, other times she played Youtube vids (Nada Sou Sou!) while waiting for students to arrive, when she taught about the royal family of Japan I instantly thought of Hey! Say! JUMP… lol. There were also much new vocab and phrases to learn from the language lessons everyday. I can finally say I AM HUNGRY in Japanese! Whoosh! The first individual presentation was on Ukiyoe (the rest got different topics) and I did a series of simple illustrations of A4. Here’s the combined version:

Jap classes only got more and more interesting as the block went by. Hehe tests were fun, they kinda brought back the feelings of the sec school exam days. My group members for the final presentation totally rock! ADM’s Chia Ying and Serene, and Jun Han from MOI. In fact, our crazy rehearsals leading up to the final skit on the last day only made it more memorable for all of us. Thanks to Hajar for filming our skit, but I don’t think I’m gonna post it up anytime. Embarassing, haha.
On Saturday Adeline called and asked me out, so we ate at Ajitei at Plaza Sing. Ahh! I tasted okonomiyaki for the first time (well it’s one of the food we mentioned in our skit)… it’s like, takoyaki haha, flattened. On top of that, I had a mini salmon sashimi don and a macha milk! OMG great combo. We shopped at Taka for clothes, and of course Kino to check out the usual stuff. Ohno’s art book isn’t up for pre-ordering, sadly. However, I did buy something at last…

I also grabbed a couple of things while we were at PS Daiso: socks and soft clay in black and white. Squishy spongy stuff. I can’t describe how hard it was, though, when I sat at my desk creating something like this on a whim. 3.5 x 3cm. Smile, it’s aaa r a sshi. Crazy extra lightweight hard-to-handle nendo.

I forsee Project 3 (THE P3) is going to be a huge disaster, a huge mental block(it runs for 2 blocks! omg!) and automatic stress feeder, only one degree less stressful than the next – Project 4. Full flash interactive website, 12 pages, at least a video or animation component and a game. My given theme: food. The one and only consolation of this block, is that ComDA starts only the day after tomorrow. So I get to enjoy my birthday more =)
