Happee Pee Three

Presentation was surprisingly slack for a major proj. Sky high standards set by the terrifi(c/ying) coursemates.

In the last year of my Poly life, how do I make the best out of being squashed under presentations, interviews, P FOUR, FYP, internship without Christmas and CNY holidays and whatever? I should really just enjoy this hol to the max, and I mean it. Pick up the books and start reading again, revamp blah, renovate room blah, visit Taiwan, sleep 20 hours a day and spend all my money on food. So many things to be done again; it’s a viscious cycle.

P3 + 12 – 1 = nonsense

After staring at the computer for such long hours, sometimes I feel that my eyes could bleed. I can’t process thoughts properly, or control the amount of junk food consumed, hahar. It wasn’t even worth it, approximately 12 hours were spent today scripting the navigation, nothing worked. Congratulations all, we have one day left for Project 3.

0-1-D-A-Y.

Let’s get over with submission and presentation.
Afterwards, I’ll probably fly to Taiwan for a holiday.

Get REAL, will you?

A2-size poster designs for the youth group Radi8′s Youth Camp 2008, with the theme Get R.E.A.L. – Realise, Equip, Arise, Lean. The camp will be held in June 10-13 at Port Dickson, Malaysia. It focuses on being real Christians and knowing our true identity in Christ. On and off, last week’s worth of work. Poster 1 features Shu Ai while the second features DJ. And yes, I really have all those bags in my house.

…appreciation.

In the past, I very often created blogskins and templates for myself and at my friends’ requests. Looking back, designing has been so simple, that comes naturally, and so enjoyable. There came a time when I was unclear of where my hobby was leading me to, WJ told me that each of my designs could fetch at least $10. I was elated! I have never experienced the thrill of knowing that someone would actually pay to use my designs.

Now that I’m pursuing web and multimedia design, it really seems that I have come a long way to be what I am today. I’m proud to tell you that the worth of what I create has increased tenfold, twenty-fold and more. I don’t regret being in IMD. Umpteen times you told me, you will become a great designer — and I will.

Thank you for your encouragements, WJ,
for being such a good friend, and also, a significant part of my secondary school days.

The love in the sky

The two posters for youth camp are almost done, now what’s left is to include the details and I can finally rest my mind *NO you have rested enough since interim 2* or should I say bring my attention back to P3. Doing irrelevant things at inappropriate times is my niche, I just have got to admit. Such is a fine example, when I was supposed to be doing work in school:

Work in progress. Actually, I have no idea what else I’m going to do with this, besides refining the drawing. So happy to have gotten the newest batch of magazine clippings of Arashi. [edit: completed drawing!]

Sunday morning was Jap elementary 2 class, no Ando sensei. Murata sensei instead, and we are back at classroom B. Oh the wonders of Japanese past tense. ;) 7 more weeks of this and it ends with a listening test (why do we have to pay an extra $20??). Atikah smsed me and asked if my goal was JLPT 1, I honestly haven’t thought about it. But this should be it huh, JLPT, another reason for taking Jap lessons; sore kara wa yoroshiku ne. Oh yeah, she also gave Ade and I an empty disc each with Arashi pictures printed on it 8D

After church, we dinner with my cousins and visited the IT fair at Suntec. So packed as though the whole world was gathering there for last minute IT sales. Left them looking for a pc for a while, walked around for a bit and immediately regretted. I couldn’t spot wacom anywhere either. The 3 boy cousins = good fun, I love having them around so much. Whether it’s to eat, crap, grow fat and whatsoever.

Ade and I caught Koizora today at Cine… Fast paced throughout most of the movie. I was slightly irritated at the overly dramatic beginning for the spate of unfortunate events that befall Mika (Aragaki Yui), seemed too exaggerated. It’s really too much. And there’s something wrong with Hiro’s (Miura Haruma, a year younger than us! Uh, now I can’t remember how exactly he looks like..) bleached hair la, in the middle of the movie I totally found his hair crappy and disturbing. His character is as badass (and as stalkerish lol) as a guy could get. We were discussing that if someone erased all the data in our phones, even if it’s Miura Haruma, we’d most definitely whack that person really hard. Thankfully it got much better as the story progressed.. he had it dyed black, yay, and even with the beanie he looks better. Mika’s second boyfriend Yu (Koide Keisuke) is so cute. Fullstop. Just after I stated this, it suddenly occurred to me that I might have seen Keisuke in other dramas before, other than Byakuyakou as I was telling Adeline. — FWAH! I knew it?! He’s the timpanist from Nodame Cantabile! Omg he’s funny haha!! Sugoi….. Koizora has a fairly predictable storyline, but many scenes were filmed in detail and handled thoughtfully. By the end of it, Koizora was so weepy. With very beautiful cinematography as well. Go watch it yourself. Sigh.

Maximum ~yabai.

Yabai for the workload that I will never get down to doing. Maximum – my favourite word for now. Besides chesuto, both Sakurai Sho <3 influenced.

I tried to blog the other day, but firefox crashed. This post was suppose to contain either an Ohno or Aiba drawing, so that my homepage shows all 5 Arashi members consecutively. But it’s not possible to do a proper drawing for now, even after so long, is it?

When I have a pen and paper, my hand intuitively begins filling the empty spaces with faces. Arashi’s faces, and random ones here and there. It’s kinda unstoppable.. my sketch book is full of it, in between pages of ComDa and P3 ideation and sketches. So in my blog entry that disappeared, I was last complaining about needing a potassium cyanide pill in order to die before the workload for this module kills me personally. There was the one entire week of intensive working on Project 3 for Interim 2 assessment, literally around the clock only to upset my body clock so much so it landed me in a slacking mode for the whole of this week. How ironic, you put off sleeping to complete work in 7 days that is actually equivalent to 2 weeks’ worth, and you thought you actually were ahead of your own schedule. I even crossed out days on a mini calendar I drew up, like what you do when you count down to a certain date.

Just when I started to feel the stress as I anticipated what this week had in store for me, the latest news from the lecturers is – an extension for P3 till the 24th. Wait, so many of us are confused whether it’s the 17th or 24th… In any case, it doesn’t matter too much, I’ve already braced myself for the earlier deadline. Completing it in time, is a different story.

TO BE DONE preferably by next week:
- Two A2 posters for Youth Camp publicity, including printing
- P3: animations, flash scripting, content, transitions, navigation system, development, documentation, presentation materials

Last Tues after Interim 2, we gathered to celebrate Jacq’s birthday at Waraku, Clark Quay. The menu! Totally delectable, and I couldn’t make a choice after 1000hours of flipping through. Got myself an ebi creamy udon that comes in a bowl SO HUGE that I could possibly have drowned in all that milky goodness. 8D I’ll visit Waraku for my meals every day! Two pictures from Jacq’s cam:

The only English soundtracks I ever bought are all from Johnny Depp’s films, namely Edward Scissorhands, Pirates III and Sweeney Todd. I listened to them all night and I have Sweeney on loop most of the time. In my head as well; it’s so nice it’s stuck in there. L Change The World was great, thumbs up for the funny and touching moments throughout the film as well as the acting from Kennichi Matsuyama and Fukada Mayuko (I so love her and the little boy in Byakuyakou). Two movies that I am planning to catch: Koizora (Sky of Love) – Ade says it’s going to be something like Sekachuu, terribly sad ending yet with a beautiful theme song and soundtracks like Taiyou no Uta (the song title even bears a slight resemblance: Heavenly Days(Koizora) and Goodbye Days (TnU)). Can’t help thinking that from all the promo posters in Cine, from an angle, Yui Aragaki looks like Inoue Maoh. The other movie would be Crows Zero starring Oguri Shun, Takayuki Yamada and Sousuke Takaoka! High school ganster movie. I remember seeing pictures of them behind the scenes in Takaoka’s blog – omg I just realise the blog’s been taken down, why!! >_<. Anyway, inferring from the fact that Crows Zero will be screened in Singapore, the more I think Hana Yori Dango the movie will be screened, too. Because Shun is famous over here, Maoh’s movie Check It Out, Yo! just screened recently (and darn I missed it), MatsuJun is said in the Chinese magazines to have surpassed Takuya Kimura etc, so why not? It’s Meteor Garden the Jap version! Silly plot but we know we’ll love it anyhow. ^^

Jap elementary 2 class starts Sunday, 10am – 1pm. Class D, Ando sensei. What is the possibility of sensei being Ando Masanobu? -100 out of 100. Aww. We’ll meet Atikah and hopefully some of the classmates from el1.

Thought of the day:
