This is the second time I heard my dad giving a speech in public, particularly a one-hour brief covering 40 powerpoint slides inclusive of pictures on the basics and managing the audio system for our Chinese congregation, albeit the turnout was a mere 6 people. He’s not the most eloquent person when he speaks in English, but at that moment I thought that, wow, he’s darn cool. Awesome in too many ways.
And the first? On the airplane to Taipei last April ;)
The whole bunch of us from IMD have been going out very often lately; birthday celebrations, airport-ing, catching movies, having meals together, and of course TRIPPING. 2009 might just be the year we hang out the most often outside of school :) Never had I expected that, after our Bintan trip last month we would be going on yet ANOTHER trip to the beach so soon with all 9 of the Bintan people including myself. The destination this time round will be Tioman, mainly because the guys are going scuba diving (they’ll be going for the advanced open water course after which they will be awarded a certificate), while the girls will snorkel. Booked today, thanks to Justin!
I also wanted to learn diving, but it’s not as though I would state that without any fears. Diving is even more dangerous than being in a plane, or so my dad claimed, and I must agree that any emergency situations that might happen deep under water are indisputably harder to handle alone. In the case of accidental choking on water, whether you surface quickly gasping for air or risk drowning for the fear of the nitrogen in your blood, either way you would have to face consequences. The more I imagine, the more it makes my head spin.. So right now I’m convinced by my dad’s decision of not allowing me to scuba dive. Anyway, I can’t swim for nuts so I won’t want to be the only idiot causing trouble during the trip.
Snorkeling with the rest of the girls sounds like a very good idea after all. I’m thinking of underwater photography :D Here’s a recap of the wonderful Bintan trip from 23rd to 25th June at Angsoka Villa Resort with the most awesome group… ^_^

This, feels more like blogging. :)
Tioman, 17-19 August! Beyond that, maybe even Hong Kong or Taiwan hehe.

Yesterday night I revisited my notes and textbook for Japanese Intermediate 1 class, struggling with mugging till the wee hours of the morning to complete studying 8 weeks worth of lessons for the placement test in the late afternoon. Having stopped lessons for almost a full year, since I had to unfortunately miss the final test for Int1 because of overseas internship last year, I was having difficulties recalling and putting to use like half of the grammar structures they had taught. In order to sign up for Intermediate 2 (unless you are continuing right away) applicants have to sit for a placement test, which was what I mugged for today. The test was quite like the usual final tests after each course, and I managed it (92/100) after all! Hurrays! Goodness knows when will I EVER make progress in my Japanese studies had I not insisted (and stopped being lazy) in signing up for class…
Recently Adeline and I met up for a couple of times, mostly to have lunch together *and totally spazzzz over JAP KARE RAISU (curry rice haha)*, browse through books at Kino or watch stuff at my house. And we would try conversing in Japanese for fun, which leads to the most interesting topics haha. Tanoshikatta ne!
Oh yes, I wonder who my sensei will be? But I’m okay not knowing about it too haha, until the day we start lessons. :D
I still cannot get over how funny this clip from Arashi no Shukudai is. Sho’s (plus Jun’s exclusive giggles which we hardly hear of recently.. so there you are Erfa, it’s sakumoto time!~) moments like this are like drugs.. I have a dose of them almost everyday, even if it means repeating and laughing over the same things over and over again. *beams*
Ok, silly.
Another Arashi fanart to end off a good day :3
Keep drawing!
