Lomography Singapore held its first official outing last month to celebrate the grand opening of its Gallery Store (that was just two days ago) as well as foster interaction within the local lomo community.
Let’s put it this way – Elen and I underestimated the high school kids. Japanese high school kids. No one would’ve expected two fearless grown ups to be screaming their way out of the dark classroom, hand in hand. That was some good fun we had in a while!
Simultaneously, there were activities on Nike Running SG‘s Facebook page to keep the hype up, such as the RUN BUDDY RUN, where you can either challenge others by synching up and accumulating your runs to Nike+ to win free places on raceday or free goodies, or send customized (de)motivational posters to your friends..
It was obvious I didn’t sign up after realising my personal running distance limits, which is ridiculous short, at the Run Like A Girl 5k event. In fact, I threw in the towel at exactly 3km. So how the hell is 100km even humanly possible??
Anyway, these are for Justin and Joshua who are highly anticipating the run, along with Nural and Chari, though I suppose 10k will be a breeze since they have been through a marathon more gruelling.
And to Elen: we can only watch and sigh in relief because we’re not in it. On an unrelated note, listen to the Death Waltz, if you haven’t. It’s kind of addictive actually.
Sometime last month, we had the opportunity to drop by Night & Day gallery at Selegie Road for this graphic design exhibition I HAVE A ROOM WITH EVERYTHING celebrating the beauty of print, featuring really great works. Also, check out the interview they had with Jonathan!
