I was woken up in the morning by my mother who passed me the set of newspaper. The time was 8 something in the morning, and yesterday I was just thinking about the voting results for the 4 weeks of voting that’s to be announced today. In a drowsy state, (almost blind state too cause I didn’t have my glasses on) I brought the papers till a distance of 3-inches away from my eyes. The first thing I saw was “?? ??”?then the header “10?”?

Oh my gosh, I guess nothing could have made me so delirious and come awake so readily the first thing on a saturday morning. LESLIE GOT INTO TOP TEN!!!!!! He’d FLOWN, as in really FLY, from last week’s results of being labelled with the 48th position into the top ten! “??????????50????????????? ?????????????????????48??????…”Ahhh this is indeed a surprise for all Leslie fans out of these few weeks of voting ^^ Before that (probably after last week’s results) I’d talk to Angie, and we were still wondering if the person at Hang Ten did pass her stack of voting forms to the main office or not. Now it seems that Leslie has made the greatest jump out of all the people that’s being voted =) I’m sooo happy for him and all the fans.. And by the way the number of forms I handed in altogether is only Twenty-Seven. 27, which was what I gave the man at Bishan Hang Ten yesterday. Which means, I still have many forms with me! Hahahah.

This must really be the greatest leap ever. My wish is that he remains in the top 10 until the actual results are announced. =) Many thanks to my classmaties, Cathleen, Gwendolyn, Edinna and more for the voting forms. At least who I’m voting for is in top 10, and that probably is NO disappointment, right? (sorry I’m kind of digressing..)

Anyway, last 3 days of forms to collect. I WILL COLLECT MORE FORMS THIS WEDNESDAY, so look out for me. *hahah*

With regards to the guzheng sec4 farewell held last saturday, I would like to thank all my dear juniors for putting together such a marvellous (and terribly hilarious) event!! It was better than any of the farewells I’ve attended throughout my whole secondary school life =) those witty imitations of tv ads and on-screen personalities and um songs like ??? ??? -____-” (okay I seriously dislike this song because when I hear it I get the eeeeky feeling) I wonder who came up with such an ‘ingenious’ idea of the ??????which when you translate, means the “Gorilla Awards” literally. Ahha. Anyway, also thanks to Meranda for doing up the IT stuff and the presentation, though it was a pity the audio didn’t work for a certain part. The illustration is great! Just to tell you that.

I remember two weeks ago I was motivated to study. I touched a chapter of bio and a chapter of chemistry and it almost got me going. However. It didn’t work out at all, so my books have been neglected since two weeks ago whilst I spent my time (hours and hours of it) on my art coursework. Of course it’s nearer to completion than when I last mentioned of it. So far I’ve spent 20 over days in total in doing this, though its not too complete yet. You might want to take a look at this: sneak preview. Ah yes it’s uploaded at this size because it’s supposed to be a sneak preview! Who uploads a sneak preview at 1000+ x 2000+ resolution? Also because, I think my rendering of the face is horrible, so it’s better like this. There’s still a long way to go though; brighten the face, add details for the paper texture at the bottom left area, redoing the frame, touching up on Leslie’s hand, adding text and stars and so on. So you see it’s a tough job, isn’t it? Oh, and I spent a great deal of my time doing it using my piano top to prop the 2-inch canvas up =) Great easel it makes, haha. Also, here’s the original digital manipulation as the layout. Notice I’d changed some of the details on my actual piece, mainly because of the colour differences and the limited spectrum of my acrylics. It’s actually a whole lot of colours that I am currently using, about 18 different colours (LOL ok don’t hit me). So in the end it was a change of ideas, basically. Oh, and the digital manip is rather roughly done as I took out the planet, or sphere looking thing intended to be a planet, and the paper with the word “nine” afterwards.

I seriously hope it will turn out well – and FAST – at least, before the end of august so that I can start studying!! It really bogs me down in any case =( and for your information, there’s still the prep work section to go. To be done on 5 pieces of a2 (I suppose) mounting board. Up till now, the art teacher is still useless as ever. What a chronic period we have lasted through and will have to last still until the end of the year with this ???SIGHHH. I wish for him to resign right now.

Tomorrow will be english oral. For the O’levels. This is so bad a situation. I hate orals for all of my life!! Look at the ravages Chinese O’s oral had inflicted… and if my mind goes blank again this time, I really wonder what’ll actually do to save my marks. AND, Chinese results are to be announced tomorrow. In face with another oral exam! How destructive can things get…….. >.<
