“Just don’t
think too much about it.
You either drop it and leave,
or finish it.

ノルウェイの森 – midori

Midori’s personality shone like the sun in contrast with the melancholic Naoko. She has the cutest analogies, don’t you think? Even though I don’t necessarily agree with it.

Watanabe: What’s true love for you?

Midori: For example, I tell you “I want tartlet with strawberries”. You drop everything, run, buy it, then run back, breathing heavily and give it to me. And then I’ll say “I don’t want it anymore”. And you’ll throw that damn tartalet through the window. That, that’s what I call true love.

Watanabe: To me, it doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with real love.

Midori: It does! I want for this person to answer me “I get it, Midori, sorry, my fault I’m a total ass, a blockhead a dog without feelings. I’m going to bring you something else. What do you want? Chocolate mousse? Or maybe cheesecake?”

Watanabe: And then?

Midori: Then I will love him.

L’essential.

The Little Prince Limited Edition Moleskin

Moleskine pays tribute to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s magical story with a collection of limited edition notebooks. Two versions, in size and layout, display the image of the Little Prince debossed on the cover. Inside there are drawings and classic quotes from this story that has been translated into more than 100 languages. The pocket holds a special surprise, a paper reproduction to cut out, mount and stick on.

The Little Prince x Moleskin – it’s so precious! As though they understood, mine arrived in the mail a day after ordering :) On the covers of both versions are printed the simplest of quotes that sums up such profound complexity:

L’essential est invisible pour les yeux.
What is essential is invisible to the eye.

And I shall never forget that.

“Hey. I’ve missed this.”

It must be painfully obvious for you to tell when I’m tremendously inspired and when I’m not. This was one of those rare instances that I felt would dissipate as rapidly as the imagery had formed had I not translated it into an actual illustration on the spot, the sort that absolutely has to be completed in one sitting to get it out of my system.

Red Wine, Whiskey and You (Natsunonamae @ LJ) tells the bittersweet story of “Jun and Sho, in the span of three years”; realistic, quiet and not overly dramatised. I love fics like these, where strong imagery builds up steadily as soon as the reader starts drinking in the words. Silverfa would probably love it too :)

Illuminated by the hazy lights at the bar, Sho and Jun settle at the familiar bar stools, with not a word passing between them. Simply lost in the moment.
